MINDRIPPLE  , the quiz club of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, brings you all in 4 Quizzes, as part of the annual techno-cultural festival of PDPU, FLARE 2012.

SASTRA University is proud to present Bring Your Own Brain(BYOB),a quiz weekend in the lead up to our annual inter-college cultural festival Kuruksastra, with a total prize money of INR 50000 to be won!

The NSIT Quiz Fest 2012

THE NSIT QUIZ FEST 2012

The NSIT Quiz Club brings to you the NSIT Quiz Fest 2012, the fourth edition of our annual quizzing extravaganza. Following the tremendous success of the event last year, we plan to make this year’s edition Bigger, Better and, well, Bulkier (on the pocket).
The three-day event will be conducted during 10-12th of February 2012 and will see the best of quizzers competing for prize and pride.
And as every year, this year too, we promise you cash prizes in hand, on the spot.
There will be a total of 11 quizzes spread over the three days – 5 Main quizzes (Prelims+Finals) and 6 Filler Quizzes (Written). The final day of the event i.e 12th February will be an Open Day. We invite teams of two for all quizzes on all days.

The itinerary looks somewhat like this:

Rules and Regulations:

3. There are 5 Main Quizzes. They will be in the normal “Prelims+Finals” format.
4. There are 6 Filler Quizzes. 25-30 questions each. All written.
5. Cross-college/school teams are allowed.
6. Each participant should have his/her school/college ID card at the time of the quizzes. On the Open Day however, just showing your face would do.

Also as a run-up to the event, we will conduct an Online Quiz series on the NSIT Quiz Club Blog – www.nsit-qc.blogspot.com starting from the 5th of February to the 9th of February. Details of the same will be posted soon.

MEGA-WHATS 2011

MEGA-WHATS 2011

The third edition of Mega-Whats, KQA’s National Open Quizzing Championship will be held on December 11, 2011.

The quiz will be held across thirteen cities simultaneously. Apart from Bangalore, we have confirmations from Chennai, Guwahati, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Mysore, New Delhi, Pune, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Date: Sunday, 11 December 2011

General quiz, open to all.

Teams of FOUR members (or less).

Prior registration is essential.

To register, please use the form on this page.

Please provide the names of the four people who comprise your team; also indicate whether you are taking part in the school, college or open categories

Registrations will close on Tuesday 6th December 2011. City co-ordinators will allow entries after the cut-off date at their discretion.

Please note that the quizzing community in your city may charge an entry fee to meet venue and equipment hire expenses.

The school category is open only to teams comprising students from Std. VIII-X

School teams ( Std. VIII-X) are allowed free entry. A school may field ONE team.

Please report by 1430hrs at the venue in your city. Since we need to ensure a coordinated start nationwide, the quiz will start at 1500hrs sharp. The doors will be closed five minutes before we begin.

Contesting teams will answer in writing a quiz of six sections and about sixty questions, inclusive of audios, videos and visuals.

Answers and scores will be announced immediately after the event–prizes will be given out for Best School Team, Best College Team, and Best Open Team.

The prizes aren’t small–they are insignificant.

We will rank the top 100 teams across the country–this list will go up by the 25th of December.

The rankings will be announced after adjudication. The decision of the quiz-masters will be final and binding on all participants.

The city-winners will face off in June 2012 as part of the KQA 29th Anniversary.

As part of the QFI Open Quizzes 2011, Chennai saw an exciting Open Sports Quiz! Ace quizzer Yaggy hosted the quiz which had over 75 teams (3 members each) .

A 35 question prelim and a 16 question clockwise and 16 question anticlockwise quiz with 2 written rounds!

Absolutely fantastic questions was the only reason that even stellar performances from the finalists made the quiz quite tough!

Vinod/Swamy/Cody came in first, with Ramkumar/Harish/Gaurav coming in second and the super trio of Rajiv Rai/Sumanth and Sumo finishing the Top 3 in the 8 team final!

QFI Open Sports Quiz Prelims

The events planned include a Middle-School Championship (Std.V-VII), a High School Championship (Std VIII-X), a Junior College Championship (PUC/XI and XII) and a College Championship (PUC to PG)

Date: Friday 24 June 2011, Saturday 25 June 2011 and Sunday 26 June 2011.
Venue: Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore.

Some Chennai wit called our 2010 anniversary ‘the Woodstock of Quizzing’. On the same theme, another Chennai wag sent us the suggestion that we should call this year’s anniversary ‘a KQArian Exposition of Peace, Love and Quizzing’.

We blenched a little bit and complained a lot about the consequences of exposure to the Cooum. Having recovered, we now undertake to provide the quizzing; those who turn up will have to organise their own peace and love.

All of the sixteen teams that qualified for the Mega-Whats Face-off have confirmed that they will be present. Thus, two teams from Chennai, five teams from Bangalore, two teams from Mumbai,and one team each from Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Panaji, Pune, Thrissur and Coimbatore will contest for the title of National Open Quizzing champions.

About

A sports quiz that will encompass numerous interesting and fascinating facts and trivia based questions from the incredible world sports apart from deciphering some lesser-known and riveting factoids from the lives of some of the legends and icons of Indian and world sports. The quiz will have dry, audio & visual questions and will be hosted by Suvam Pal & Boria Majumdar (Guest quizmaster).

Preliminary Round

A preliminary written round comprised to 30 questions (20 dry, 5 audio & 5 visual questions) to select 8-10 best teams for the final round. There will be a few marked questions which will be decider or differentiator in case of a tie between two or more teams.

Final Round

The final will feature 10 interesting rounds (6 dry, 2 audio & 2 video) with the 8-10 finalist teams. 10 points for each correct answer (both for direct and pass questions). In case of a tie between two teams, there will be tie-breaking questions.
